Atlantic City has been attempting to revitalize itself from the inside out, and many of the city’s key developers think this can be done by attracting millennials to the city at a higher rate. Wasseem Boraie, one of the city’s key developers, has always been in the forefront of drastic and positive change and is behind the idea 100 percent.
What Drives Wasseem Boraie?
Boraie owns Boraie Development, which is based in New Jersey. The company was established by his father and mentor back in 1986 and has been working hard to connect with city officials. Boraie’s goals have always included a way to mesh his skills and the good of the communities that he serves.
Boraie has worked on more than 168 projects, and most of them high-rise and high-demand jobs. This is not surprising to those who know Boraie best since he has always tried to live up to his father’s name and reputation. Boraie wants the company to be known for excellence, diligence, and craftsmanship. He has been very successful achieving some of these goals.
Boraie and Atlantic City’s Restoration
One of the blaring issues affecting Atlantic City is that there really is not enough millenials in the region. A surveyed showed that only 13.6 percent of the population in Atlantic City are 25 to 34 years of age. Many economists and developers understand that a city that wants to see an increase of revenue needs to attract young and vibrant citizens.
One of the things that Boraie learned from his father was to understand trends and be able to apply that to his developmental plans. Boraie–along with other developers–have hatched up a plan to redevelop the city in such a way that would attract a younger demographic.
The key to the plan is the location is already perfect for millennials who usually flock to urban regions that are vibrant and full of life. At this time, developers believe that most young people are still living in the suburbs because they do not have a place to live. Boraie intends to ensure that they come to Atlantic City.
Boraie–with the help of others–are embarking on creating new apartments in the city. The apartments are going to have features that attract this younger generation, like a rustic yet modern touch. The hope of the city is that the millennials will help revitalize the city with new businesses and increase the tax brackets.
